MONSTER TRACKS has been creating award-winning music for advertising, film, television, and corporate productions since 1987.
MONSTER TRACKS Original Music was founded in 1987 when recent Berklee graduate Chuck Butler was introduced to then Baker Sound Studios owner Gary Moskowitz by Philadelphia Folk Legend Gene Shay. Moskowitz hired Butler as Baker Sound's Director of Music Production and together the two established MONSTER TRACKS as the facility's original music production division.
Their new endeavor met with immediate success. Butler's jingle for Wick's Ski and Sport received regular airplay during the Howard Stern Show on local radio, and was followed by heavily broadcast jingles for regional retailers including I. Goldberg and Mr. Goodbuys (both featuring lyrics co-written with Shay). The company's first national airplay came with a series of jingles for retailer Fashion Bug (produced by Los Angeles radio personality Peter Tilden). MONSTER TRACKS' post-scoring work began with TV spots for The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Phillies, as well as a number of political campaigns, including former Vice President Al Gore's first presidential bid in 1988. A spot for Pizza Hut in 1989 marked MONSTER TRACKS' Superbowl debut.
MONSTER TRACKS has received numerous local awards for advertising excellence, including Philly Gold Awards for Best Original Music Score in 2001, Best Musical Adaptation in 2004, and Best Sound Design in 2006. National honors include multiple Addy awards, Pollie awards, Promax awards, Telly awards, ITVA awards, and the One Show award. Butler was KEYBOARD magazine's Reader Soundpage Winner in 1989, and won a national songwriting competition in 1990, composing an original song for the Institute Of Mental Health Initiatives in Washington, DC. MONSTER TRACKS has composed music in support of numerous causes including The Partnership for a Drug Free America, Philadelphia Food for the Homeless, The Business and Arts Council of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, and the Delaware Valley Project with Industry.
A music production company is only as good as the musical talent at it's disposal, and MONSTER TRACKS' success is due in part to the diverse and outstanding pool of musical talent available in the Greater Philadelphia region. Members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Philly Pops, Opera Company, and Pennsylvania Ballet have been featured in many of our productions. Philadelphia has a strong theatre circuit as well, providing us with top-notch performers, and the music faculty at University of the Arts are regulars in our studios. Nearby Atlantic City is also a strong source of talent. And of course Philadelphia has a longstanding tradition of artists working in every popular genre, from jazz and blues, to rock and rap, to the latest trends in eletronic music. All of our performers are experienced professional who are truly appreciative of the opportunity to make music, and this is apparent in the care and attention to detail that goes into each and every MONSTER TRACKS production.

MONSTER TRACKS offers our clients the ability to build their own custom music library. Unless otherwise specified, every piece of music you commission from MONSTER TRACKS, whether for a specific project (such as a radio or TV spot) or in anticpation of some future usage (such as for an upcoming political campaign), falls under our standard licensing policy. This means that you can use this music on future spots for the same advertiser (such as a theme that appears on multiple spots for a health care system), or even for different advertisers (for example, a piece used in a political ad in one election cycle could be used for a different candidate in the next), without paying any reuse fees. In other words, every time you commission a piece from MONSTER TRACKS, you are building your own personal music library, created to your specifications.
MONSTER TRACKS is always interested in discussing long-form projects. Please contact us for details, as pricing can vary dramatically depending on the nature of the project.
